Requirements To Obtain a Marriage License |

IDENTIFICATIONS (Identification (“ID”) must be current and Not expired.)
AN EXPIRED ID WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. NO EXCEPTIONS!.
All IDs mentioned below must contain the photo and Birth date. Each person must bring one of the following IDs:
• Driver License issued by any State in the US
• State Identification Card or other US State Identification Card
• Military Service or Military Dependent Identification Card
• Passport (U.S. or International)
• Alien Registration Card (formally known as a Green Card)
Forms of Identification REQUIRING 2 CREDIBLE WITNESSES WITH ACCEPTABLE ID (please note that this may incur an additional fee because these forms of IDs require additional Notary Public services)

If you do not bring the appropriate documentation, you will NOT be issued a marriage license.

- Identification Card Issued by another country
- Any Country Driver's License or Identification. Birth certificate and ID must be translated into English, no exceptions.
- Matricula Consular Card. A birth certificate is required with every Matricula Card accepted and all birth certificates must be translated into English, no exceptions.

The Following Items are NOT needed to get a Marriage License: A blood test or health certificate is NOT required to obtain a marriage license. There is NO residence or citizenship status requirement. You do not need to live in California, Los Angeles or the United States to qualify for a marriage license. Anyone from anywhere in the world with proper Identification can marry in California. |
